Sony finally comes out with its own version of netbook "W" series. Available in Pink, Brown, and White Three different colors. Spec as follows:

Intel Atom N280 1.66Mhz Processor
Windows XP Home Edition
10.1" LED-backlit widescreen display 1366x768
Weights 2.6 lbs
1GB RAM and 160GB Hard Drive
Bluetooth (A2DP Stereo)
802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi
2 Memory Card Slots - SD and Memory Stick
Shipping in USA starts at 8/18/2009. Price USD starting $499, or more expensive at the Asia Region - 60,000 Japanese Yen (around $600+ USD)

For a premium of $100 more over Toshiba N205, you get 801.11 n, memory stick slot, DLNA compatiable, and higher resolution 1366x768 vs Toshiba's 1024x600. I don't know about you, as a long time fan of Sony ( I owned several generations of Sony walkmans, cellphones, digital frames, Vaio notebooks, PDAs, and Rear Projection/ LCD TVs.), I would pick Toshiba N205 over the Vaio W if I don't mind the resolution or Acer CULV Timeline if I need something full blown. If Sony could position the W series at around $450 range with 6 cell batteries, it would make it a lot more appealing.
