Toshiba attacks CULV space with 11.6in T115

After Windows 7 release, Toshiba release couple new model for 11.6 in ultraportable notebook using Intel CULV (Consumer Ultra Low Voltage) CPU. At the mean time, there is two models available in North America : Satellite T115-S1100 and T115-S1105 pricing at USD $449 and $479 respectively. Both models are available via Amazon.com, but only S1100 is available as a pre-build model on ToshibaDirect.com.

Lets check out Toshiba’s claim n the T100 Series (that includes both T110 (11.6 in) and T135 (13 in)) models:

Enough said, please note there is 2 big difference on the T110 models: S1100 is using a Celeron 745 and S1105 is equipped an Intel Core 2 Solo SU2700 (single core)

• 2GB DDR3 memory

And T115-S1105
• Intel® Pentium® Processor SU2700
• Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium (32-bit)
• 2GB DDR3 memory
• 250GB HDD (5400rpm)
• 802.11b/g wireless

Both models do not come with Bluetooth, no 64 bit Windows 7, and comes only in Nova Black. I was hoping it would come with Red, White, Black like the T135 does. There is a big wish list item that was announced originally but has not yet available is the addition of Intel Core 2 Duo SU4100 CPU to the lineup. SU4100 CPU’s dual core nature seems to go well with smoother HD experience and has received many praises so far. As far as these 2 models, I would highly recommend to go with the SU2700 CPU with only $20 difference in price. You will find this $20 well spend in the long run.
